Trinco Dialogue 2022 Maritime Symposium Culminates on a High Note

The eighth edition of Maritime Symposium Trinco Dialogue 2022 was successfully conducted at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium from 0800 to 1400 hours on 21st October 2022. The event was organized by the Student officers of 31st Junior Naval Staff Course of Naval and Maritime Academy under the able guidance of the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore KDDC Fernando, RSP, USP, rcds. The event was resurfaced after a silence of three years due to pandemic situation and this time the theme for the Trinco Dialogue was ‘Sri Lanka Navy: Roadmap to Future’.

The event was graced by the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral KJ Kularatne, RSP*, USP, psc as the Chief Guest and the keynote speaker. Among paper presenters three of them were Mrs Sinduja Jeyaratne, lecturer at General Sir John Kotelawala University, Commander Priyadarshana Udakumbura, RSP*, USP, psc and Commander Chaminda Walakuluge. The rest of the three papers were presented by six student officers from 31st Junior Naval Staff Course. Representatives from Navy Headquarters, Brigadier EMM Fernando, Hdmc AATO Lsc Commandant Army Logistics School, Group Captain DMSB Dassanayaka, BSc (Def Stu) MTS, psc Commanding Officer Junior Command & Staff Course, senior officers, and Student Officers of Sri Lanka Army School Logistics and Junior Command and Staff College Sri Lanka Air Force Academy were also present to witness the event.

The aim of the symposium was to discuss, deliberate and expand the horizons for the young officers in the Sri Lanka Navy. The event was webcasted through Sri Lanka Navy internal web and YouTube.
