Kalakeerti Anoja Weerasinghe delivers a 2nd Experience Based lecture (EBL) on Emotional Intelligence

Under the guidance and supervision of Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy second lecture of the Experience Based Lecture (EBL) series was held with a high key note on 19th October 2022. The lecture was conducted under the topic of “Emotional Intelligence” by most respected and recognised veteran actress Kalakeerti Anoja Weerasinghe at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of more than 550 naval personnel from the ships and establishments in Dockyard.

Kalakeerti Anoja Weerasinghe is a well-known and a highest award winning Sri Lankan actress who later stepped in to Yoga and became a profound Yoga instructor with the training through the Sivanadan Yoga Academy. She established ‘Abhina Academy’ which served through rehabilitation of disabled soldiers, trauma victims, mentally ill patients and drug addicts. Moreover, she is a renowned lecturer on motivation and emotional quotient.

EBL was conducted with the gracious presence of The Commodore Superintend of Logistics Commodore Rajinda Saram and the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy. HODs, Commanding Officers of ships and establishments, family members, Officer Under Trainees, senior and junior Sailors and Sailor Under Trainees also attended the lecture. Kalakeerti Anoja Weerasinghe pointed out the way of balancing professional, personal and social life by addressing the emotional intelligence cautiously. Further, the lecture entailed with practical breathing sessions which helps to manage emotional intelligence and control anger in day-today basis. The Commodore Superintend of Logistics Commodore Rajinda Saram presented a memento with the presence of the Commandant NMA to the guest speaker to mark the event and convey the heartiest appreciation of all the participants.
