Revamp Yoga at Coral Cove Yoga Ashram by a veteran Acharini

1. The Coral Cove beach is a picturesque beach which is situated in Trincomalee area. The most demanded and newly constructed Yoga Ashram was declared open by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugethenna, RSP*, VSV, USP, ndc, psc during his last visit to NMA. People from all walks of life have been welcomed at this Yoga Ashram.

2. Though Yoga was introduced to the Sri Lanka Navy and trained some Physical Training Instructors, a noticeable active involvement could not be seen during last few years. Before starting the Yoga sessions at this Yoga Ashram, a few Yoga sessions were conducted by the qualified instructors of NMA during the last two months. Since 17 Oct to 23 Oct, Kala Shuri, Yoga Acharini Anoja Weerasinghe has volunteered to render her valuable service to conduct a few Yoga training sessions at Eastern Naval Area to glitter their lives with the benefits of Yoga. This would be an excellent opportunity to everyone to boost their interest and continue in future to adjust the lifestyles in contemporary social scenario and also to select new instructors for the betterment of the future navy.

3. This event was conducted under the patronage and guidance of the Duty Chief of Staff and the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral KJ Kularathna, RSP*, USP, psc and the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore KDDC Fernando, RSP, USP, rcds.

4. Further, the yoga sessions have provided more favourable occasions for most of the naval personnel and their family members to enrich their lives and balance the work life with the new avenues to overcome the complexity of the contemporary life styles.
