CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF 26TH SUB LIEUTENANT TECHNICAL COURSE – EXECUTIVE

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of 26th Sub Lieutenant Technical Course – Executive was held at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium on 08th February 2025. The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Rear Admiral R Joseph graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The course commenced on 16th January 2024 with 26 Student Officer Under Trainees (SOUTs). All 26 SOUTs successfully completed the course and obtained their certificates. During the 52 weeks SOUTs were exposed to absorb and weigh the theoretical aspects through practical training from different schools at NMA. In addition, some modules were conducted by visiting lecturers, and other naval establishments.

The certificates were awarded by the Chief Guest to all SOUTs to mark the successful completion of the course. Lieutenant DMCJ Jayasekara was able to secure the prize for the ‘Best Public Speaker’ while Lieutenant PRNI Pattivila secured the prize for the ‘Best Essay’ and the Trophy of ‘First in Order of Merit’. Meanwhile, the award for the ‘Highest Aggregate in Overall Subjects’ of the 25th  Sub Lieutenant Technical Course – Executive was awarded to Lieutenant YS Thomas.

Addressing the august gathering, the Commandant congratulated to the SOUTs for achieving their career milestone and urged the young officers to continue with the learning process and perform well in future assignments.
