CEREMONIALLY COMMENCED THE PHYSICAL TRAINER I QUALIFYING COURSE AT  NMA

The PT I Qualifying Course was ceremonially commenced at the Naval and Maritime Academy on 25th November 2024 with the participation of 25 Physical Training Instructors.  

The course participants will gain advanced knowledge in both theoretical and practical subjects related to sports, exercise and Sports Science throughout the course. The total duration of the course is 24 weeks, with nine (09) weeks conducted at National Institute of Sports Science (NISS). The planned curriculum at NISS aims to further enhance their knowledge in areas such as Sports Massage, General Theory of Training, Sports Nutrition, Sports Sociology, Sports Management, Sports Psychology, Sports Physiology and Sports Biomechanics.

The aim of this course is to make professionally competent PTI sailors for the advancement to the rate of Petty Officer (PTI) by imparting in-depth knowledge of the rules for various recreational sports, coaching   and umpiring. This will enable them to manage these sports and serve as referees or judges of all Navy sports events.
