COMMANDANT NAVAL AND MARITIME ACADEMY REPRESENTS SRI LANKA AT THE 2ND ‘MARITIME COMMUNITY WITH A SHARED FUTURE’ FORUM FOR COMMANDANTS OF INTERNATIONAL NAVAL COLLEGES AND ACADEMIES

The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy attended the 2nd ‘Maritime Community with a Shared Future’ forum for Commandants of International Naval Colleges and Academies representing Sri Lanka held at the Naval Command College, Nanjing, China from 20-21 November 2024.

This year’s forum was attended by 21 foreign naval academies and representatives from PLA Navy academies.

The Commandants of Naval Academies and Colleges expressed their views under three sub-themes focusing on ‘Opportunities and Challenges’, ‘Experiences and Consensus’, and ‘Optimization and Cooperation’. The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore Rohan Joseph shared his views under the subtheme ‘Opportunities and Challenges.’

The NMA Commandant also held discussions with Rear Admiral Liang Yang, the Commandant of PLA Naval Command College and other heads of naval colleges, and academies during the conference.   

The Commandant was accompanied by Lieutenant Commander MM Widanapathirana.
