The 35th Junior Naval Staff Course which was commenced on 10th June 2024, successfully completed with a Graduation Ceremony held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 18th October 2024. The event was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral KDDC Fernando RSP, USP, rcds as the Chief Guest.
Seventeen Student Officers, comprised of 16 officers from Sri Lanka Navy and one officer from Sri Lanka Air Force received their certificates upon successful completion of the course. Both the Chief Guest and the Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph RSP, USP, NWC, psc extended their congratulations to the officers highlighting the importance of continuous training for career advancement and professional excellence.
Several officers were recognized for their outstanding performance during the course. Lieutenant Commander (C) DRJ Fernando was awarded the trophy for First in Overall Order of Merit, while Lieutenant Commander (G) PS Wathsala was received the trophy for Highest Aggregate in Academic Subjects.  Further, Lieutenant Commander (N) DMRP Dhanasekara was recognised as the Best Public Speaker, and Lieutenant (Marine) PHH Jayathunga awarded the trophy for Best Commandant’s Service Paper.
The ceremony was conducted with the presence of the Deputy Area Commander, Commanding Officer of the Junior Command & Staff College, Sri Lankan Air Force, China Bay, Senior Officers from the Eastern Naval Command, faculty members of Naval and Maritime Academy, instructors as well as Officer and Sailor Under Trainees along with Student Officers and their spouses.
