23RD SUB LIEUTENANT TECHNICAL COURSE (INFANTRY AND PROVOST) (SOUTS).

The 23rd Sub Lieutenant Technical Course (Infantry and Provost) was inaugurated on 05th August 2024 at the mini auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy. The Training Captain of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Captain Nilanga Dharmarathne graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer, Acting Officer Training Officer and the divisional team participated in this event.

The 23rd Sub Lieutenant Technical Course (Infantry and Provost) includes 8 Provost officers, two of whom are female, and 17 Infantry officers. This course aims to provide thorough academic training on naval subjects, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. It aims to develop the necessary qualities and capabilities for the trainees to become competent and professional naval officers.

Addressing the Student Officer Under Trainees (SOUTs) at the opening ceremony, the Training Captain emphasized the importance of acquiring essential knowledge to effectively lead men and make sound decisions while upholding etiquette, discipline, integrity, honour and punctuality. He further recommended SOUTs to acquire critical knowledge and prove themselves to become competent future leaders with great capability and vision.
