SUCCESSFUL CULMINATION OF LEADING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY QUALIFYING  COURSE 01/2023 AT NMA

The closing ceremony of Leading Information Technology Qualifying (L ‘Q’ IT) Course 01/2023 was held at the Information Technology School on 16th May 2024 with the presence of the OIC IT School Lieutenant Commander (IT) WSC Fernando, the chief instructor, other instructors, and sailor under trainees of L ‘Q’ IT course 01/2023.

The L ‘Q’ IT course 01/2023 commenced on 30th October 2023 with the participation of eight (08) Able rate Information Technology sailors. The course was designed to enhance the knowledge and practical aspects of SUTs and to inculcate leadership qualities which are mandatory to perform their duties as a Leading rate sailor in the Information Technology branch of the Sri Lanka Navy. The course unfolded for 24 weeks with classroom instructions on theoretical training for compulsory IT branch subjects and naval subjects.

All trainees were awarded a certificate on successful completion of the course and IT I HAHS Ranasinghe (IT 112612) was awarded the Golden Mouse Award, to the highest aggregator in overall merit. At the closing address, Lieutenant Commander (IT) WSC Fernando, the OIC IT School stated that NMA keeps trust in all the course participants and believes that they will move ahead with the knowledge they have gathered during the course and will utilize it for the betterment of the Sri Lanka Navy.
