THE PASSING OUT PARADE CONCLUDES AT A HIGHER NOTE

The Passing Out Parade for the Basic Orientation Course held at the main parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy on 04th May 2024, showcased the esteemed naval customs and traditions in a grand display. Three Medical Officers of 33rd and 34th Intakes KDU, two lady Medical Officers, one Dental Officer and an Electrical Officer of UGCE who followed the Basic Orientation Course marched off with pride and honour on completion of their training.

The Acting Commander of the Eastern Naval Area and the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore B Liyanagamage, RWP, RSP, USP, ndc, psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and took the salute. The parade was held in the presence of family members of the officers being passed out, faculty members, Instructors, officers, and sailor under trainees of NMA.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the responsibility vested upon these skilled officers entrusted with the vital task of preserving our naval interests of those who passed out from the sacred parade ground. Also, he commended their hard work and determination which led to the successful completion of this course. Further, he acknowledged the invaluable support and encouragement provided by parents and family members. Also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Officer Training Officer and the Directing Staff of the Naval and Maritime Academy for their unwavering commitment and dedication to shaping these individuals into proficient naval officers.

The parade was highly admired by the Chief Guest and it was concluded with a dazzling band display by the NMA band. The untiring efforts and dedication of the entire faculty and the staff paved the way for the success of this dignified event.
