THE TRAINING COMMAND WOMEN’S TRIATHLON TEAM TRIUMPHS THE VICTORY AT THE INTER COMMAND TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP

In the picturesque setting of Naval Dockyard and Sandy Bay beach in Trincomalee, the stage was set for the thrilling spectacle of the Inter Command Triathlon Championship – 2024, held on the 27th and 28th of April. In a remarkable feat of athleticism and teamwork, the Eastern Naval Command claimed victory in the men’s championship. At the same time, the women of the Training Command clinched the victory in the women’s category.

Ordinary Seaman SACD Darmasena of the Eastern Naval Command won first place while Leading Mechanical Engineering GSN Perera of the Training Command secured second place in Inter command Triathlon championship men’s category.

In the women’s category, the first place was won by Women Able Physical Training Instructor GDD Sakunthala from the Training Command. In contrast, second place was secured by Women Able Physical Training Instructor EMAGLB Edirisinghe from the Western Naval Command.

Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamege, the Deputy Area Commander of Eastern Naval Area and the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy graced the event as the Chief Guest accompanied by Officers from Eastern Naval Command and other Commands.
