MERCHANT MARINE TRAINING SCHOOL (MMTS) COMMENCES THE  TRAINING OF TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS PROGRAMME  AT NMA

Stepping into another phase, the Merchant Marine Training School commenced the Training of Trainers and Assessors (TOTA) course on 25 Mar 24 with the approval of the  Director General of Merchant Shipping. The course is conducted by Dr. Leslie Hemachandra who is one of the  Leading auditors of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and a consultant in implementing IMO standards in member states. The course is consisted of 12 officers and 18 sailors, and it is scheduled to be terminated on 29 Mar 24

The aim of the training programme is to impart necessary knowledge to instructors who are performing instructor duties in merchant marine field in order to perform their duties in an effective and efficient manner. Further, undergoing a TOTA programme is mandatory to perform instructor duties in merchant marine field.

 The Merchant Marine Training School conducts training programmes to impart quality training to the course participants with the vision of producing capable and competent seafarers for the field of merchant shipping. This course will steer the aspirations of naval personnel who engage in instructor duties in merchant marine field.
