STRENGTHENING NAVAL PREPAREDNESS: A MILESTONE ACHIEVED IN NBCD TRAINING

In a significant stride towards enhancing naval readiness and empowering its personnel, the Naval & Maritime Academy Trincomalee has successfully conducted the pivotal training program aimed at fortifying expertise in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense (NBCD). The completion of the Advanced NBCD Officer Course marks a crucial milestone in advancing the capabilities of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The culmination of the Advanced NBCD Officer Course on 15 Mar 24, marked the successful training of 15 dedicated officers over two months. This intensive course, which commenced on 08 Jan 24, was meticulously designed and executed by the NBCD School at the Naval & Maritime Academy. It provided participating officers with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in NBCD, Firefighting, Damage Control, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) aspects.

Throughout the course, officers underwent rigorous training sessions, combining theoretical understanding with hands-on experiences. The curriculum was carefully crafted to equip officers with the necessary expertise to execute their duties with confidence and professionalism aboard naval vessels. Simulations and practical exercises simulated real-world scenarios, ensuring that officers were adeptly prepared to handle diverse challenges encountered at sea. The successful completion of the Advanced NBCD Officer Course underscores the Sri Lanka Navy’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and preparedness among its ranks.
