OPENING ADDRESS OF GR III QUALIFYING COURSE

The opening address of the first GR III Qualifying Course in 2024 was held on a high note at NMA Gunnery School on 04th March. This course is specially designed to impart knowledge on weapons that are used in SLN to junior sailors who have completed the Advanced Seamanship Course to enroll them into the Gunnery branch. The course is comprised of 60 Junior Sailor participants.

Lieutenant Commander (G) PS Wathsala officially inaugurated the ceremony and the Chief Instructor of the Gunnery School, FCPO BMNJP Balasooriya welcomed all the course participants.

The course participants will have to undergo 27 weeks of a training programme consisting of 16 weeks of Academics at NMA and 11 weeks at the Naval Armament Department. The course will be terminated on 07th September 2024.
