RECONSTRUCTION OF THE NMA GRENADE FIRING BAY

          The reconstruction of the Grenade Firing Bay was completed under the directives & guidance of Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddika Liyanagamage and the supervision of Training Captain Sagara Udayanga. The Naval Combat Training Unit of NMA conducts firing/demolition sessions and events to sharpen the combat readiness of the trainees in NMA and other training establishments. A new remarkable step has been taken for the reconstruction of a Grenade Firing Bay under the patronage of Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy to enhance the firing skills of Naval personnel in focusing on handling capabilities on various types of hand grenades including No 36 Hand Grenade, Type 82-2 Hand Grenade. Construction of the Grenade bay was conducted by Naval persons attached to the Combat Training Unit of NMA. In addition, Commander Eastern Naval Area allocated funds from the ‘Air Rifle Club’ fund to reconstruct this Grenade Firing Bay.
