SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PO ‘Q’ ME 01/2023 AND PO ‘Q’ ME(TM) 02/2023 COURSES

 The Closing Ceremony of Petty Officer Qualifying ME (TM) 01/2023 and Petty Officer Qualifying (ME) 02/2023 courses was held at Engineering School Auditorium on 24th December 2023 to mark of the culmination of the two courses with the presence of Lieutenant Commander (E) DRC Nallaperumarachchi the 2IC Engineering School.

Both Petty Officer Qualifying ME (TM) 01/2023 and Petty Officer Qualifying (ME) 02/2023 courses were commenced on 14th June 2023 with the participation of thirty (30) sailors in each course. Both the courses were designed to enhance the knowledge, enhance the practical experience of Sailor Under Trainees and inculcate leadership qualities which are mandatory to perform their duties as Petty Officers in Engineering Branch Sri Lanka Navy.

The course was unfolded for 27 weeks and comprised with classroom instructions on theoretical training for common compulsory naval subjects and respective branch subjects. Further, practical training on respective fields of the Sailor Under trainees were conducted at renowned government and private sector organizations exposing them to advance technologies and trends on their respective vocations.

The Sailor Under trainees of both the Petty Officer Qualifying ME (TM) 01/2023 and Petty Officer Qualifying (ME) 02/2023 courses successfully completed their projects (Automobile Paint Scheme Illustrator and Propeller pitch measuring Instrument) and handed over to the Engineering School during this remarkable occasion. During the address of the gathering, Lieutenant Commander (E) DRC Nallaperumarachchi, the 2IC Engineering School stated that NMA keeps trust on all the course participants and believes that they will move ahead with the knowledge they gathered during the course and will apply for the betterment of Sri Lanka Navy.
