Deputy Area Commander – Eastern Naval Area Visits NMA

The Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area Commodore WMA Bowatta arrived on his first official visit to NMA after assuming the office of Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area on 13th December 2023. Upon his arrival, the Commanding Officer, Commander (C) DMAB Dissanayaka, received him in the presence of Commandant, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage.

Fruitful discussions took place with the Deputy Area Commander and faculty members of NMA. During the visit, the Deputy Area Commander visited the Woman Sailors’ Mess, Sailor under trainees’ accommodation areas, main galley, Officer Under Trainees accommodation areas, Student Officers’ classrooms, FAC simulator and finally, addressed to all Officers, Sailor Instructors, and selected sailor under trainees. During the speech, he mainly focused attention on the values and responsibilities of an instructor at NMA in grooming Under Trainees, and how to balance life and work.
