“EUROPHIA-2023” Variety Show Organized By Otw

 

 “Europhia – 2023”, a Variety Show which orchestrated extraordinary talents of the Officer Under Trainees (OUTs) of Naval & Maritime Academy was held at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium (AWKA) in the evening on 24th August 2023 and Cmde Buddhika Liyanagamage, the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy graced this fabulous event as the Chief Guest.

 

Altogether 75 OUTs of Basic Orientation Course, 38 Intake KDU, 64th Intake, 65th Intake and Direct Entry – 2022 performed actively on the stage by showing various talents which comprised Dancing, Stage Dramas, Compeering and Musical performances including singing and instrument playing. This event served as a pivotal platform for nurturing the OUTs, offering them a unique avenue to showcase their inherent potential.

 

The Sri Lankan cultural up-country dance emerged as the mesmerizing opening act, infusing “Euphoria – 2023” with a dazzling and vibrant energy. As the curtains lifted, the rhythmic footwork and intricate movements of the dancers illuminated the stage, setting the tone for a truly captivating evening. Thereafter, a number of songs were sung in four languages (Sinhala, Tamil, English and Hindi) with musical instruments played by the band “FLEXES” which consisted of only OUTs. The stage was then decorated by the talented OUTs with a fantastic dance in the Western style of Cha Cha, a drama called “The Reality” which was a significant one with humour mixed, a Sinhala mash-up, Freestyle & Hip-hop combined dance and a dance by Lady OUTs for a Hindi song which caught eyes of all audience. Further, acoustic covers of English and Hindi songs with a romantic act performed by the OUTs in a magnificent style, fascinated the audience. A Sinhala and English mixed Mash-up performed by the band “FLEXES” terminated the show by wondering the audience with much pleasure and joy.

 

The culmination of “Europhia – 2023” marked a momentous occasion as the Commandant Naval And Maritime Academy shared his heartfelt reflections on the remarkable event. Cmde Buddika Liyanagamage extended his sincere congratulations to all the participants, acknowledging their outstanding performances and urging them to harness and nurture these talents for the advancement of the future Sri Lanka Navy. His words resonated with encouragement and fostered a sense of enthusiasm among the participants to determine to continue improving their skills. Further, he expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated efforts of the Officer Training Officer and OTW Directing Staff, recognizing their instrumental role in orchestrating such a platform.
