8th EBL; Admiral Piyal De Silva (Retired) delivers a lecture on ‘Outcome   Drive Leadership’

The Eight Experience Based Lecture (EBL) was held with a high note on 26th August 2023 under the guidance and supervision of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage, The lecture was conducted under the topic of ‘Outcome Driven Leadership’ by Admiral Piyal De Silva, WWV*, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, ndu (Retired) at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Head of Departments, Officers from the ships and establishments and Officer Under Trainees.

The lecture could broaden the horizon of knowledge of the young officers especially the prospective Navy Officers who are undergoing training at NMA. Admiral Silva who was the 23rd Commander of the Navy emphasized the importance of leadership while taking examples of his own experience and truly pointed out some of the leadership traits expected from young officers to lead the navy in the future. A memento was presented to the guest speaker to mark the event along with the heartiest appreciation.
