Language School Organizes “NOSTALGIA”

The OIC and the English practitioners of Language School, NMA organized “NOSTALGIA”; the city of English with the intention of sharpening the communicative skills of the Sailor Under Trainees (SUTs) of NMA on the 22nd August 2023 afternoon at the Academic Complex in a remarkable manner.

 In the city, SUTs represented various schools of NMA and performed events such as a bus stop, a lottery counter, a vegetable stall, a fish stall, a street drama, a book shop, a juice bar, a hospital and many other places that are available in a city using the authentic language that they had learned in the English modules of their respective courses.

The Commandant, NMA Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his comments, the Commandant admired the efforts taken by both the participants for their mesmerizing performances and the organizers for creating such a valuable opportunity for SUTs to improve their English language related skills in the long run.

The Training Captain, Captain HAC Priyantha also witnessed the city and praised the participants and the organizers highlighting the importance of engaging in co-curricular activities in this caliber to enhance the global language, especially among the SUTs of NMA.

The directing staff, all the OUTs and sailor instructors of NMA attended the city to get an exposure to this innovative experience.
