5th EBL; Dr. Sanath Chandana De Silva delivers a lecture on “Nuclearisation of Indian Ocean and Development of Second Strike Capability ”

The fifth Experience Based Lecture was held with a high note on 25th March 2023 under the guidance and supervision of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage, The lecture was conducted on the topic of “Nuclearisation of Indian Ocean and Development of Second Strike Capability” by Dr. Sanath Chandana De Silva at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of naval personnel from the ships and establishments in the Eastern Naval Area. Dr. Sanath Chandana De Silva is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Strategic Studies, Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, Sir John Kotalawala Defence University. 

The lecture was an eye opener to the young officers and especially to the prospective Navy Officers those who are undergoing training at NMA as Midshipmen and cadets. Further, he emphasized the importance of vigilance to probable threats which could occur due to nuclear accidents.
