Student Officer Under Trainees (SOUTs) of 24th Sub Lieutenant Technical Course successfully completed their Local Educational and Environmental Excursion from 19th to 25th March 2023. 25 SOUTs along with 02 Directing Staff members participated in   the excursion.
One week of Local Education Excursion has been included in the training curriculum to provide an opportunity for SOUTs to enhance their knowledge of the role and tasks of various institutions in Sri Lanka.
During the visit, SOUTs were given the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, CINEC Maritime Campus, Sri Lanka Nanotechnology Institute, Colombo Dockyard PLC, Marine Environment Protection Authority, Department of Meteorology, Welikada Prison and Victoria Hydro Power Station. Moreover, the excursion included a visit to the Air force RADAR Station at Piduruthalagala. During the visit, SOUTs were able to attend lectures, laboratory & workshop visits and practical sessions to enhance their knowledge of technological aspects.
