4TH  EBL; Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Retd) delivers a lecture on “Why a Navy”

The fourth experience based lecture was held with a high note on 28th January 2023 under the guidance and supervision of the commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, RSP, USP, rcds. The lecture was conducted on the topic of “Why a Navy” by Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Retd), WWV, RWP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, AOWC at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of naval personnel from the ships and establishments in the Eastern Naval Area. Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Retd) was the 22nd Commander of the Navy. 

The lecture could broaden the horizon of knowledge of the young officers and especially the prospective Navy Officers those who are undergoing training at NMA as Midshipmen and cadets. Further, Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Retd), WWV, RWP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, AOWC emphasised the importance of being sea going people as an island nation.

The lecture was conducted with the gracious presence of the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force Rear Admiral Dhammika Kumara, USP, psc and the Commandant Naval &  Maritime Academy, HODs, Commanding officers of ships and establishments, Student Officers and Officer Under Trainees.  Senior sailors also attended at the occasion
