The Language School organizes an ‘Inter School English Short Drama Competition’

The Language School of Naval & Maritime Academy organized an ‘Inter School English Short Drama Competition’ for the first time, with the intention of improving the English language skills and the talents of the Sailor Under Trainees of NMA.

The preliminary round was held with the participation of eighteen dramas and six dramas were staged in the grand finale held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium from 1900 hrs onwards on 26th October 2022.

The Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Damian Fernando graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The drama ‘The Frog and The Princess’ presented by the Medical School was crowned the champion of the competition while Recruit Medical Assistant MMS Bandara, MM 119060 and Woman Recruit Medical Assistant DA Mudalige, WM 119160 were adjudged the best actor and the actress respectively by an impartial panel of judges.

In his speech, the chief guest highly admired the talents of all the Sailor Under Trainees who took part in the dramas staged under different themes. The winners were awarded the trophies for their exceptional performances by the chief guest.
