INAUGURAL CEREMONY OF 37TH JUNIOR NAVAL STAFF COURSE

The inaugural ceremony of the 37th Junior Naval Staff Course (JNSC) took place on 01st April 2025. The Commandant of NMA, Rear Admiral R Joseph, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and, the Training Captain, Deputy Training Captain, Course Coordinators, and Directing Staff were also present. The 37th  JNSC comprises of 24 Student Officers (SOs), including one officer each from the Bangladesh Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force, representing various branches such as Executive, Marine, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Legal.

The JNSC is structured into two semesters. The first semester, spanning 19 weeks, focuses on academic and operational training to enhance leadership and strategic thinking. The second semester, lasting 26 weeks, requires officers to complete an extended essay while serving in their respective appointments. Upon completion, officers will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Defence Management from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

During his speech, the Commandant emphasized the importance of knowledge, communication skills, confidence, and strategic vision in shaping future leaders. He expressed his appreciation for the participation of the Bangladesh Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force, and encouraged the officers to approach their training with dedication and perseverance. The ceremony marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the SOs, setting them on a path towards excellence in their naval careers.
