ACADEMIC INTERACTION WITH THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS DEPARTMENT STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITY OF COLOMBO

The Officer Under Trainees (OUTs) of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) had an academic interaction session with the undergraduates of the Department of International Relations of University of Colombo on regional and global affairs at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium (AWKA) recently.

The visit consisted with academic sessions on “Navigating Uncertainty: Maritime Security Challenges in the 21st Century” present by the NMA OUTs and a panel discussion on the topic, “Modern Maritime Security Threats (Climate Change, Rising Sea Levels) Cyber security Threats, Global North, Global South, Global Super Powers and Power Shift” conducted by the university undergraduates.

Further, a tour of the NMA Museum provided them with the opportunity to understand naval history of Sri Lanka and maritime heritage. The visit strengthened interaction between the NMA and the University of Colombo, offering a valuable knowledge sharing platform on current regional and global affairs.

Mementoes were also exchanged at the end of the event.
