COMMANDANT’S QUIZ COMPETITION

The ‘Commandant’s Quiz Competition’ concept was initiated by the Long Logistics Management Course No. 09, in NMA history for the first time. The event is designed to inculcate critical thinking, knowledge mining and leadership skills among all the Officer Trainees of the NMA with the patronage of the Senior Course Coordinator, Commander(S) MAK Senadeera. The first and second rounds of the competition were conducted on 28th and 29th of January 2025 with the participation of eight teams. The grand finale of the Commandant’s Quiz Competition was held on 30th January 2025 at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium and the Commandant, Naval & Maritime Academy, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph graced the event as the Chief Guest.

NBCD Officer Course and the Sub Lieutenant Technical Course (Provost) selected to the final round. Through a hard battle over five significant rounds, NBCD Officer Course Secured the Championship whilst Sub Lieutenant Technical Course (Provost) secured the Runners-up. TLCdr (INF) ST Serasinghe (Team Leader), LCdr WAPS Wijesinghe, Lt (INF) AHM Morawaka, Lt KTD Perera and Lt WHGHMVB Herath represented the NBCD Officer Course. After the certificates and trophy awarding ceremony, the Commandant addressed the audience and congratulated both the teams, emphasizing the worth of knowledge.
