TRAINING COMMAND EMERGED CHAMPIONS

The highly anticipated Navy Colours Awarding Ceremony 2024, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy Sports Board, unfolded in a grand spectacle on 11th December 2024 at the Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall, Welisara.

The event was graced by the Commander of the Navy and President of the Navy Sports Board, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, who attended as the Chief Guest. Recognizing the extraordinary contributions of Navy athletes, the ceremony honoured 326 exceptional sportsmen and women for their outstanding achievements in 35 out of 42 sports disciplines. These accolades celebrated their performances at the Naval Command, Defence Services, as well as national and international levels during the years 2020, 2022, and 2023.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the Training Command, which emerged as Inter Command Champions for three consecutive years: 2020, 2022, and 2023. The prestigious award was received by the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy from the Commander of the Navy.The ceremony was attended by senior members of the Navy Board of Management, Area Commanders, flag-ranking officers, and a large gathering of senior and junior officers, as well as sailors, making it a truly memorable occasion.
