PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION – 2024 FOR SAILOR UNDER TRAINEES

The ‘Grand Finale’ of the Public Speaking Competition – 2024 for Sailor Under Trainees (SUTs) was held on 15th December 2024 at AWKA. The event was honored by the presence of the Commandant, as the Chief Guest.

The journey to the ‘Grand Finale’ began with 46 SUTs selected from various courses for the first round of the competition. After a close run competition, 15 of them were selected to proceed to the second round. Ultimately, 08 trainees made it to the final stage. The event featured a series of predetermined exemplary topics, allowing each participant to demonstrate their knowledge, critical thinking and persuasive speaking abilities.

This event allowed the SUTs come together to showcase their oratory skills. This competition was also a platform for SUTs to articulate their ideas, sharpen public speaking techniques and gain invaluable experience. The Commandant in his speech, emphasized the importance of public speaking in personal and professional development. He encouraged all trainees to embrace such opportunities as they help in building confidence. The Commandant awarded letters of appreciation to each finalist for their dedication and hard work. Following winners were awarded with cash prizes and trophies:
