COMMENCEMENT OF NBCD AND FIRE FIGHTING COURSE FOR EOD QUALIFIED PERSONNEL AT NMA

The Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee proudly announces the commencement of the NBCD & FF (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Defence and Fire-Fighting) Course 02/2024. This specialized programme, tailored for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) qualified officers and sailors, began on 25th November 2024 at the NBCD, DC & FF School. Running until 9th December 2024, the course includes one officer and 11 sailors as participants. Its primary objective is to equip EOD-qualified personnel with comprehensive theoretical and practical expertise in NBCD and firefighting, enhancing their readiness to manage and respond effectively to critical incidents.

Participants in the course will undergo advanced training encompassing a wide range of critical topics, including fire fighting techniques and NBCD. The programme will equip them with the skills to combat various types of fires using specialized fire fighting equipment and strategies while also addressing nuclear, biological and chemical threats. Emphasis will be placed on preventive measures and responsive actions to ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of vital equipment. This comprehensive curriculum is meticulously designed to prepare participants with the expertise needed to effectively manage NBCD scenarios and fire fighting emergencies.
