THE BASIC ORIENTATION COURSE 03/2024 COMMENCED AT NMA

The opening ceremony of the Basic Orientation Course (BOC) 03/2024 was held at the mini auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy. The Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Officer Training Officer and the divisional team also participated in the event. This was a notable event and it marked the commencement of their Basic Naval Training and they will embark on their naval career after the completion of the professional training.

The Basic Orientation Course 03/2024 consists of 12 Medical Officers from 34th and 35th Intakes KDU. The course aims to provide comprehensive academic training on naval subjects and the curriculum encompasses theoretical and practical aspects, fostering the development of qualities and capabilities that are necessary for the trainees to evolve as competent and professional naval officers.

When addressing the trainees at the opening ceremony, the Commandant emphasised the importance of acquiring naval skills essential to perform their duties in the Navy.
