SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PHASE III SURVEY RECORDER QUALIFYING COURSE 01/2024

Fifteen junior sailors undertook a transformative journey through the Phase III Survey Recorder Qualifying Course 01/2024 completing their academic phase at NMA, spanning for 25 weeks from 13th May 2024 to 30th October 2024. The course aimed to equip participants with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for hydrographic survey duties in Sri Lankan waters. Through a blend of classroom sessions and limited hands-on training exercises, sailors delved into areas such as Hydrographic Control, Hydrographic Practice, Tide and Oceanography, Meteorology and Electronic Data Processing.

As the course concluded, the fifteen sailors emerged as proficient and confident survey recorders who are ready to serve with professionalism in the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS).

The Phase III Survey Recorder Qualifying Course 01/2024 handed over a commemorative plaque and a copy of the National Atlas of Sri Lanka for the use of Hydrographic Survey School which consists with a wide range of information presented cartographically with explanatory texts, diagrams and other images at the closing ceremony. The Officer in- Charge of the Hydrographic Survey School LCdr (H) KGTM Jayatissa, Chief Instructor MCPO (SR I) HPAD Pathirana and other instructors were present at the closing ceremony .
