MERCHANT MARINE TRAINING SCHOOL (MMTS) SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES THE  TRAINING OF TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS PROGRAMME  AT NMA

Stepping into another phase, the Merchant Marine Training School successfully completed the Training of Trainers and Assessors (TOTA) course on 29th Mar 24. The official certificate awarding ceremony was graced by the Director General of Merchant Shipping, Mr. Ajith Wijesinghe as the chief guest. The course was conducted by Dr. Leslie Hemachandra who is one of the  Leading auditors of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and a consultant in implementing IMO standards in member states.

The aim of the training programme is to impart necessary knowledge to instructors who perform instructor duties in the merchant marine field in order to execute their duties in an effective and efficient manner. Further, undergoing a TOTA programme is mandatory to perform instructor duties in the merchant marine field.

The Merchant Marine Training School conducts training programmes to impart quality training to the course participants with the vision of producing capable and competent seafarers for the field of merchant shipping. This course will steer the aspirations of naval personnel who engage in instructor duties in merchant marine field.
