SERVICE ENTRY CANDIDATES OF 01/2023 SHOWCASE LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY IN MESMERIZING “ENGLISH DAY”

The Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) witnessed an important moment as the Service Entry Candidates of 01/2023 organised and successfully hosted the “English Day.” This captivating programme, named “The Channel 12 Plus One,” served as a platform for the candidates to exhibit their talents and language competencies following the completion of the intensive English module.

The English Day programme, held on 12thJanuary 2024, at the mini auditorium of NMA, was a splendid showcase of individual and group performances. The event featured an array of elements, including speeches, songs, group songs, and a comedy drama, creating an engaging and lively atmosphere for the audience.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Commandant, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries in attendance included the Training Captain, Commanding Officer, Officer Training Officer, OIC Language School, and officers of the Officer Training Wing (OTW). The newly joined OUTs of the 66th Intake were also present as spectators, getting a first-hand experience of the talents within their levels.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Commandant addressed the Service Entry candidates, expressing appreciation for their outstanding performances. The Commandant acknowledged the commendable work of the English instructor and the divisional team, recognizing their efforts in shaping the candidates’ language proficiency.
