INTER SCHOOL ENGLISH SHORT DRAMA COMPETITION CHERISHES THE AUDIENCE

The grand finale the second edition of the Inter School English Short Drama Competition organised by the Language School of Naval and Maritime Academy was held on a high note from 1915 hrs onwards on 30th November 2023 at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium.   

The night was full of action as it was rich in various types of dramas such as tragedy, comedy, classic and semi-classics. It was a brilliant opportunity to showcase the dramatic performances of the Sailor Under Trainees who are being trained attached to all the schools in NMA.

In the preliminary round, all the schools staged a drama representing their school and in the grand finale, six dramas competed with each other to be crowned as the best drama. The drama “Everyone Has a Unique Beauty” acted by the Medical School was crowned as the best drama. Woman Medical Assistant VS Malsha WD 120255 who acted in the role of queen of the drama “Everyone Has a Unique Beauty” was adjudged the best actress and LME UWPA Kumara EE 81089 who acted in the role of “Assistant of the Gurunnanse” in the drama “The Real Devil” of the Engineering School was judged the best actor respectively.

The Commandant of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his speech, he appreciated the effort taken by the English Practitioners and OICs of other respective schools. Directing Staff including the Director Academic Studies, Deputy Training Captain, OICs, Officer Instructors, Sailor Instructors and Sailor Under Trainees witnessed the event.
