33rd JNSC – TRIATHLON

A Triathlon event organized by 33rd Junior Naval Staff Course (JNSC) was concluded on 16th September 2023 at the Naval Dockyard premises. The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event served as a platform for fostering team spirit and to assess the leadership skills, physical and mental endurance and organizing abilities of intermediate level Officers.

In addition to the student officers of 33rd JNSC, there were four officers of the Directing Staff of NMA, including Training Captain who volunteered to participate. Surprisingly, Training Captain Capt HAC Priyantha secured the first place emphasizing that the age has a mere numerical value. Among the 33rd JNSC student officers, LCdr GA Gunathilaka, LCdr NN Wicramasooriya, LCdr DJKS Siriwardana secured 1st, 2nd, 3rd places respectively. 

The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, praised the participants for their dedication and team work emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship in fostering leadership qualities.
