Opening Ceremony of PO ‘Q’, Leading ‘Q’ and Phase III courses at Engineering School

The opening ceremony of Petty Officer (SW) Qualifying Course No. 01/2023, Leading (ME) Qualifying Course 02/2023, Phase III ME courses (PIII ME 02/2023, PIII ME 03/2023, PIII ME 04/2023) was held in a successful note at the Engineering School, NMA on 11th September 2023.

Petty Officer(SW) Qualifying Course serves to expand the knowledge and capabilities to perform as competent Shipwright Senior Sailors to the Sri Lanka Navy. Leading Qualifying Course has been prepared to mould sailors to perform their duties and responsibilities in a successful manner. The training module for the Phase III ME sailors serves as the foundation for their career to build their professional knowledge and carry out their assigned tasks in the relevant area of Marine Engineering more competently. Further, all five courses were comprised of 140 junior sailors.

The official opening ceremony for the above courses was graced by Commander (E) KM Chaminda Lal, the officer in charge of the Engineering School. All the course participants were given a thorough briefing on the course contents and procedures.
