Inaugural ceremony of inshore patrol craft handling foundation course No: 2.

The inaugural ceremony of 02nd Inshore Patrol Craft Handling Foundation Course which was organized by Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) was held in high note in NMA mini auditorium on 24 Jul 23. This course is specially designed for female cadre of relevant agencies and comprises with 09 course participants including 03 from Indonesian Marine Police Department, 03 from Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and 03 from Sri Lanka Navy.

The Training Captain Naval and Maritime Academy Captain (N) Chandana Priyantha participated as Chief Guest of the Inaugural Ceremony and during the address Training Captain    welcome all foreign course participants and others on behalf of the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy.

Course brief was emphasized the gravity of female cadre involvement to counter the illegal maritime activities by employing them for coastal and harbour security duties and finally extend best wishes for successful completion of the course. The course participants will have to undergo 04 weeks of training programme including two weeks of Academic at NMA and 02 weeks of practicals at Harbour Defense Unit.
