Naval & Maritime Academy celebrates 56th birthday

Naval & Maritime Academy celebrates its 56th anniversary in a charm & glamorous manner. At the outset the lunch was donated to the ‘Rewatha’ Children’s home in Trincomalee and pregnant mothers who attended for the clinic at Naval Hospital – Eastern Command. Further a ‘Boodhi Pooja’ was also conducted on 14th July 2023 at the Tissa temple to convey merits for the fallen war heroes and best wish to all naval personnel who contribute their dedication to maintain the standard of NMA currently.

Paying the way to naval tradition the Commandant’s Division was carried out with the patronage of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage on 15th July 2023 at the NMA Parade Ground. Senior officers including the Training Captain and the Commanding Officer and the ship’s crew attended for the divisions followed by the ‘Mangala Bojanaya’ conducted at the General Mess on the day itself.

The anniversary celebration has been scheduled to conclude with the gathering of ship’s crew at the ‘Coral Cove’ beach on 16th July 2023.
