US Department of Treat Reduction Agency Explores NBCD School, Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee

A delegation from the United States Department of Treat Reduction Agency (DTRA) visited the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee today 13th July 2023. The purpose of this visit is to conduct a CBRN (Chemical Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) capability assessment as requested by the Ministry of Defence to evaluate the present status. The delegation was led by CBRN subject matter experts Ms. Tarevea Arlethia Baskett, Mr. Brandon Lamarr Casrey, and Mr Mark Jason France.

The delegation was educated by presenting a presentation on present capabilities, limitations, challenges, and future requirements on CBRN aspects. On completing the presentation, the delegation has a fruitful discussion with the Commandant about the future requirement for the development of CBRN aspects in NBCD School, NMA.

The CBRN experts conducted a field visit to the NBCD School to obtain knowledge on available resources.

The meeting was also attended by Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Cmde B Liyanagamge, Deputy Training Captain, and OIC NBCD School.
