The Training Command becomes the Runner up (Men’s category) of the Inter Command Musketry Championship 2023

The Inter Command Musketry Championship 2023 was held at SLNS Shiksha from 24th to 27th May 2023 with the participation of all naval commands of SL Navy. The relevant event had been organized with 3 Rifle stages and 3 Pistol stages and the training command consisted with the following teams:

  • Two (02)  Men’s Rifle teams (Age of Above 24 /Age of  below 24)
  • One (01) Men’s Pistol team
  • One (01) Women’s Rifle team
  • One (01) Women’s Pistol team
  • One (01) Men’s team (OUTs)

As per the final results of the Inter Command Musketry Competition 2023, Men’s rifle team (Age of above 24) and Men’s pistol team were awarded overall runner up in both rifle and pistol events.  Women’s rifle team and Women’s pistol team were awarded overall 2nd runner up in both rifle and pistol events. Further PO (Inf) AMCS Bandara was able to obtain the runner up position of the Pistol stage 1 (Men’s category) and Mid WGS Tharuka became the winner of the Pistol stage II (Women’s category) as individual performances. The rifle, pistol teams of the training command were trained and guided by the Naval Marksmanship & Sniper Training School on the direct instructions, supervision of the Commandant, Naval & Maritime Academy. The Director General Civil Engineering Rear Admiral MJRR Medagoda graced the prize awarding ceremony as the chief guest.
