6TH EBL; Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd) delivers a lecture on “Location – Location – LOCATION, Defence Diplomacy & Indo Pacific Strategies for Sri Lanka”

The sixth Experience Based Lecture (EBL) was held with a high note on 13th May 2023, under the guidance and supervision of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage. The lecture was conducted on the topic of “Location, Location, and Location: Defence Diplomacy & Indo Pacific Strategies for Sri Lanka” by the 20th Commander of the Navy, Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd) at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of naval personnel from the ships and establishments in the Eastern Naval Area.

The lecture could broaden the horizons of knowledge for the young officers, especially the prospective Navy officers who are undergoing training at NMA. Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd) emphasized the geographical importance of Sri Lanka in the Indo-Pacific Region and in the global context. Further, he requested that young officers who go for foreign training to get the maximum exposure and serve the motherland.                   

The lecture was conducted in the gracious presence of the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Dhammika Kumara, HODs, Commanding Officers of ships and establishments, Officers, Student Officers, Officer Under Trainees, and Senior sailors.
