Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage delivers a lecture on military leadership

Under the guidance and supervision of Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy first Experience Based Lecture (EBL) series was started with a high key note on 27th August 2022. The initial lecture was conducted under the topic of “Military Leadership in Future Challenging Environment” by Admiral (Professor) Jayanath Colombage at Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium with the participation of more than 500 officers covering all the ships and establishments at Eastern Naval Area.

Admiral (Professor) Jayanath Colombage, RSP, VSV, USP, PhD, rcds, psc, FNI was the 18th Commander of the Navy and he is a renown lecturer and distinguish diplomat.  He was the former Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2022, prior to which he served as Additional Secretary to the President for foreign relations.

EBL was conducted with the participation of The Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathne, Deputy Area Commander, flag rank officers, officers and Officer Under Trainees. Event commenced with a delightful introduction about the guest speaker by the Training Captain of NMA. The lecture was conducted as a part of NMA training and truly pointing out to groom up young officers leadership qualities comparing to present scenario. The Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathne presented a memento to guest speaker to mark the event and heartiest appreciation to the guest speaker.
