Naval and Maritime Academy endowed six Drill Instructors to the Sri Lanka Navy instilling the pride, professionalism and proven dedication. 34th Drill Instructor Qualifying Course consisting with six sailor under trainees passed out from the Naval and Maritime Academy today having conquered the yard sticks of the six month long full time course with strenuous training. Well-deserved triumph was celebrated ceremonially with grace of the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore KDDC Fernando, RSP, USP, rcds as the Chief Guest.
The recognition as Drill Instructors was accorded by adorning pace sticks along with the Drill Instructor chain to them by the Chief Guest at NMA parade ground. Subsequently, Leading Seaman (DI) NSL Nimalsiri was acknowledged as who performed outstandingly during the DI qualifying course and awarded best DI recognition. Following the proceedings, the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy delivered the customary speech to the new Drill Instructors underlining the importance of discipline and responsibilities whilst insisting of imparting the knowledge and skills they have hard earned to the future navy.
Symbolizing the day, the newly passed out Drill Instructors showcased their talents with a well synchronized drill display which fastened viewers who gathered to witness the achievements with it.
