A Netball Court for NMA and the whole Eastern Command was a much awaited project for years with the initiative of the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Damian Fernando, RSP, USP, rcds and the blessings of the Commander Eastern Naval Area. NMA constructed a fully-fledged Netball court to enhance its sports facilities for lady officers and women sailors.

The inauguration ceremony was held on 25 Jun 22 and occasion was graced by the Commodore Superintend Logistics Department Commodore Rajinda Saram, USP as the chief guest. The NMA women’s team won the opening match played between NMA Team and Team East.
