Training command crowned sea swimming champions-2022

The Inter Command two kilometers sea swimming competition 2022 (Men and Women) was held at Nicholson Cove, Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 17th June 2022 displaying outstanding performances by the swimmers of Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) obtaining both men and women overall championship.

123 male swimmers and 15 female swimmers were participated representing all nine commands for this champion. Displaying impressive performances NMA, men secured the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals with the best swimmer’s award and obtained 137 points while women secured the silver and bronze medals and obtained 59 points. Second places of men and women were secured by Northern and Southern command obtaining 61 points and 30 points respectively.

The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Navy Aquatic pool and glamorously flagged off by the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne, RSP*,USP, psc as the chief guest. The Commandant, Naval and Maritime Academy witness the event and he participated for the medal and certificate awarding ceremony.
