EDUCATIONAL VISIT OF STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF KELANIYA TO NAVAL DOCKYARD

Students from the Department of International Studies, University of Kelaniya, took part in a two-day educational visit to Trincomalee as part of their Strategic Studies programme. The visit provided valuable exposure to key aspects of maritime strategy and regional geopolitics. The programme included a lecture by the Commandant and the Officer Training Officer of Naval and Maritime Academy and a presentation on the historical significance of the Trincomalee Harbour.

Students also engaged in a discussion session with Lieutenant and Lieutenant Commander rank officers, gaining insights into naval operations and leadership. The group visited Sober Island, where they participated in various activities such as kayaking, hiking, and team games.

They also toured a naval vessel and the Naval Museum, further enhancing their understanding on the maritime significance of Trincomalee.
