SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF MARITIME ENGLISH INSTRUCTORS TRAINING COURSE

The concluding ceremony of the Maritime English Instructors Training Course (MEITC) was held at the Long Course Deck on 14th January 2025. The ceremony was graced by the Commandant of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Rohan Joseph, as the Chief Guest. This is the first time that this course has been conducted at the Naval and Maritime Academy under the directives and close supervision of the Merchant Shipping Secretariat.

The course, which was conducted from 11th to 14th January 2025, aimed at qualifying the English instructors of the Sri Lanka Navy under the coordination of the Merchant Marine Training School (MMTS). The objective of this course is to enhance the competencies of SLN English instructors in the field of Maritime English, enabling them to excel in their future assignments.

The course was conducted under the professional guidance of Mrs. Chandani De Silva, a highly qualified teacher trainer specialized in Maritime English. Furthermore, Commodore Rohan Joseph commended the efforts of the course participants and expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts made by the Merchant Marine Training School and Mrs. Chandani De Silva.
