OPENING CEREMONY OF RP II QUALIFYING COURSE 05/2024

A group of 30 Radar Plotter sailors joined the Navigation School of the Naval and Maritime Academy on 23rd November 2024 to follow the RP II Qualifying Course 05/2024 for a duration of seventeen (17) weeks.

The aim of the RP II Qualifying Course is to impart professional knowledge to RP sailors to discharge their duties as Radar Operators, perform duties of Navigator’s Yeomen, Tactical Communicators’ and Plotters’ duties onboard ships and in operation rooms. It also covers the demand, upkeep and maintenance of navigation publications and equipment.

The course will enable them to perform their respective duties effectively and efficiently. The OIC Navigation School addressed the trainees during opening ceremony and emphasized the importance of this course to discharge duties as efficient navigator’s yeomen and navigation departmental in-charge duties during future attachments. The Chief Instructor, instructors and divisional team were also present at the event. The course is scheduled to complete on 22nd March 2025.
