NEW DRILL INSTRUCTORS PASS OUT AT NMA

The Naval & Maritime Academy endowed Eight (08) new Drill Instructors to the Sri Lanka Navy instilling pride, professionalism, and proven dedication. The 37th Drill Instructor Qualifying Course consisted of Eight (08) Junior Sailor Under Trainees passed out at the Naval & Maritime Academy on 20th March 2024. Well-deserved triumph was celebrated ceremonially with the gracious presence of the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area & Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage as the Chief Guest.

New Drill Instructors were accorded with adorning the pace sticks along with the Drill Instructors’ chain by the Chief Guest at the NMA parade ground. Subsequently, Able Seamen (DI) TMT Hasintha, XS 114823 was acknowledged as the one who performed outstandingly during the six-month DI qualifying course and was awarded the golden chain on acknowledgment as best DI. Following the proceedings, the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area & Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy delivered the customary speech to the new Drill Instructors emphasizing the importance of discipline and responsibilities whilst insisting on imparting knowledge and skills they have hard-earned to the future navy.

Symbolizing the day, the newly passed-out Drill Instructors demonstrated their talents with a well-synchronized drill display which attracted the viewers who gathered to witness the occasion.
